I moved into town with one of the major employers in the area and was looking to get a local bank. I chose Regions and have regretted it ever since. They put unnecessary holds on every check and deposit, and even shut down our account without letting us know. When I called in to get the story, their 1-800 number was just an endless loop of questions with no way to dial zero and talk to a real person.
Just finished a transaction at this location. The teller was friendly and informative. The bank was well kept. I see no reason for the bad reviews.
I've also been looking at getting a mortgage and they would not share their rates. It was like pulling teeth. When I was finally able to get a quoted payment and rate, they were completely noncompetitive.
This is the slowest branch of Regions I have ever been to and no one ever seems to be able to answer your questions or even help you order checks.
